The iconic Avis ‘We Try Harder’ button, born from the company’s 1960s advertising campaign, became an unlikely morale symbol for U.S. soldiers in Vietnam. Its message resonated strongly with troops, who often wore the pins on their helmets. Avis noticed this, and produced an ever elusive button in a tigerstripe-like pattern; something I’ve been waiting to find for many years.
However, many of us are just larpers and tryhards. We aren’t fighting for our lives in the jungles, but sometimes it’s fun to rock a patch that speaks to us. That’s why I put together this 2.5x2.5in woven patch: for the tryhard in all of us 🫡
You may notice these come in a pair of slightly different ones. One is slightly more subdued and the other more original to the tones of the button. No need to choose which you want, you get both! Or you can share one with your favorite battle buddy!
