(I am 5'11 and it fits me fine when maxed out.) Otherwise, it will fit a larger spread of sizes as a standalone rig. Additionally, this is not certified life saving \/ parachuting \/ airborne \/ repelling equipment. This is a novelty item for my collectors and larpers out there. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHistorical Context: \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe STABO rig was developed in 1968 by Maj. Robert Stevens, Capt. John Knabb, SFC Clifford Roberts. It uses MIL-T-4088 Type-13 nylon webbing as its base with MIL-T-4088 Type 8 as the belt and ring holders. It uses steel friction buckles, V-rings, and standard pistol belt woven through the  sewn-in straps. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was designed as a dual-purpose system, as the STABO extraction harness allowed Special Forces and MACV-SOG reconnaissance personnel to wear their primary load-bearing equipment while maintaining an immediate, hands-free harness for emergency helicopter evacuations. The system was developed to replace both the hazardous McGuire rig and the transitional Hanson rig, whose complex leg-strap assembly proved overly cumbersome for teams operating under fire. Official procurement began in March 1969 with an initial batch of 500 units produced through the Counter Insurgency Support Office (CISO), followed by 1,370 standardized models manufactured via Natick Laboratories in May 1970. Total military production remained low,limited to roughly a few thousand units.
